Mike Maruska

Mike Maruska

Mike got seriously hooked on NASCAR in 2004. He immediately submerged himself in learning as much about the sport as he could, watching races, reading books and viewing a lot of different content on the web.

After a few years he began realizing that a lot of the online NASCAR content published by the media wasn't very good. He decided he could at least try and do better.

Mike hopes to be as fair and objective as possible in his writing. A good opinion must be supported by fact, and if it is a different angle than the majority that's even better. In addition to strong opinions based on facts, he hopes his writing is entertaining and fun.

Comments and feedback are always welcome. If you read something you like, something you hate or something you want to see, send Mike an email: mike [at]mikemaruska[dot]com.

James Jones

James Jones

James's earliest memories of NASCAR racing revolve around his uncle in the late '70s and early '80s. On Saturday nights he would watch his uncle race on the local dirt tracks. When Sunday rolled around, the afternoon would often be spent playing the card game UNO while watching the NASCAR race on television with a cold glass bottle of Mountain Dew. Fast forward nearly three decades and James is still a fan of NASCAR. Though now he's more likely to have his fantasy picks in one hand and a cold Molson Canadian lager in the other.

For the last several years James has been administering his own fantasy games among friends and co-workers (with a little money on the line). After discovering OneBadWheel.com he was hesitant to share the resource with his friends so as to not loose his competitive advantage in his NASCAR fantasy games. However, after offering OneBadWheel firsthand statistics feedback, and after participating in BETA testing the Champs, Chumps, & Sleepers game, James decided he couldn't keep the site a secret from his friends any longer.

James has an interest not only in NASCAR statistics that may help with fantasy picks, but he also has a fondness for general NASCAR history. James is a contributing blogger for OneBadWheel and will also offer up articles pertaining to the week's upcoming race.

Though prone to occational moments of levity, James welcomes your comments at james[at]onebadwheel[dot]com

Darren Fauth

Darren Fauth

Darren grew up at the local race track every week watching his dad race at Lorain County & Sandusky Speedway's in North Ohio. When he wasn't watching the races, he was running around under the stands with his brother collecting beer cans (it WAS the 70's).

Always intrigued by trivial and in-depth statistics and endowed with a "if I'm going to do it, I'll do it with all I got" mentality, he started creating the database that OneBadWheel is now wrapped around to help him win at Fantasy NASCAR leagues. Obsessive to a fault, he will continue to build the site until ESPN wants to buy it for a few million.

Steve McClearn

Steve McClearn

Steve laid the ground work of his NASCAR Statistics Analysis articles by analyzing the 2000 - 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup season data. With the help of statistical software, he is formulating models to predict how drivers are going to place and how many points they are going to score each week.

Every week he posts his predictions. One set before the pole and an update after start positions are determined.
