Dale Jarrett for Breast Awareness Month

Dale Jarrett
With Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte and Elliott Sadler in pink paint schemes on Saturday night, Dale Jarrett attempted to explain why.

Nearly everyone knows that the pink paint schemes are usually tied to the Susan G Komen foundation and the fact that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Maybe it was Jessica Simpson singing the National anthem or all of the WAG’s (wives and girlfriends) sitting trackside, but Jarrett had something other than racing on his mind.

He initially announced that October was Breast Awareness Month and hence the reason for the pink paint schemes. He quickly amended his comments, but I was already lost in laughter.

I love and appreciate NASCAR’s involvement with Susan G Komen (I’m the son of a 7 year survivor) but a little levity during these crazy times is always appreciated. Thanks DJ!

Did anyone else catch the faux pas?

Is this the beginning of a new NASCAR campaign?”
