Fantasy NASCAR Game Winner Takes On The Experts

Once per week, OneBadWheel.com’s contributing writers submit their prediction of who will win the upcoming Cup race. We make these picks in advance of any practice or qualifying. Darren then posts not only our picks, but also predictions of some other writers and bloggers from other NASCAR websites. You can check out the current standings here. As you can see, 3 out of 4 of OneBadWheel’s experts are at the top of the chart. Woohoo!!! True, Mike Neff of frontstretch.com has the best average (10.7) through race #26. However, Mike has missed a week and thus his average is based on 25 of 26 potential predictions. Not that I have anything to gain {clears throat}, but that needs to be fixed. I say a missed pick = a 44th place finish. Should be a DNQ in other words. ;) Oh, and pay no attention to the 4th OneBadWheel expert’s position on that list. He’s playing as the “control” group. Yeah, that’s it, the “control group.” I’ve even suggested he change the name of his website affiliation. However, since he owns the joint…. it stays as is.

Maybe you can tell, but we have a friendly competitive nature going on between us. As such, I suggested we make advance predictions for all ten Chase races using only Chase drivers. We could only use a driver once, and there would be no changes allowed mid-Chase. Each week our prediction will get the same points as our driver earned in the race. We’ll keep a running total each week and see who comes out on top at the end.

Possibly for redemptions sake, Darren invited another expert to join us. The thing is, this expert has proved his skills by already having won a major prize this season. Jon R. used his “AMOZONS” team to take first place in Challenge #1 of the Gillette Young Guns Fantasy Challenge game. Gillette Young Guns nascar fantasy gameIf you missed it, read Darren’s interview with Jon to learn more about how John scored big. You can also see the official winners list on the GYG website.

So what do you think? Can this proven NASCAR fantasy challenge winner take on OneBadWheel’s experts and claim top honors here too? Well, we’ve challenged him and he didn’t back down. All I know is, if he does come out on top, there won’t be a big screen TV in it for him this time.
