“My NASCAR Bad Boy Moment™ #4 of the 2007 NASCAR season goes to Kurt Busch for his pit road rage against the Home Depot crew at Dover in the Autism Speaks 400.
#4: Kurt Busch Tries the Pit (Road) Maneuver

This is another Bad Boy Moment™ that I personally cut the guy slack on. Those pit guys are pretty quick, plus he saw him coming. I doubt that Busch would have mowed him down had he not already did the dramatic jump to safety.
On the other hand, Busch wasn’t operating with a full tank of common-sense. It was a definite bone-head move to do that on pit road. Pit road has enough hazards to deal with that are legit and part of the job. This isn’t one of them.
I agree with Tony’s comments prior to the race the following week. “Kurt’s a good guy…he’s been catching a bunch of crap this week…it was in the heat of the moment. That’s what makes him such a personality in this sport, me too.”
Still, NASCAR didn’t treat it so lightly. They parked Busch for the rest of the race, fined him $100,000.00, took 100 driver points away and put him on probation through the end of the year. I think Kurt should leave the pit maneuvers to the cops.
